Doctor issues injury update on West Ham star Lucas Paqueta after what happened recently

The West Ham physios will continue to monitor Lucas Paqueta to avoid an injury setback, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert has reacted to David Moyes’ comments about withdrawing the Brazilian against Freiburg on 14 March despite him wanting to stay.

The Hammers convincingly won the game 5-0 and progressed into the next round of the UEFA Europa League.

Speaking exclusively with West Ham ZoneBrar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said:

This is par for the course for elite football, especially key players – managing players and risk/reward.

An injury is never a good sign, but this did not look to be significant and he did play the majority of the following game.

I doubt it’s a muscular issue but I can’t say it’s nothing to worry about.

That being said, West Ham’s physio team will be monitoring very closely.

West Ham must be careful with Paqueta’s injury situation

The Brazilian has only just returned from an injury setback and the last thing anyone will want is for him to be unavailable again.

He has been an important player for Moyes’ side this season and despite being a midfielder, has played on the left flank on numerous occasions.

The 26-year-old has even registered three goals and five assists, helping the Hammers in the final third.
