‘David Moyes signing’ James Ward-Prowse set for West Ham exit in Deadline Day development
Dan Bardell believes James Ward-Prowse will suit Nottingham Forest better than West Ham under Julen Lopetegui.
The former Southampton captain was signed by the Hammers last summer in a deal worth £30million [Sky Sports].
Just 12 months later his time at the London Stadium appears to be over with David Ornstein reporting on 30 August that a loan move to the City Ground has been agreed.
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell has suggested that the Englishman doesn’t suit Lopetegui’s style of play so a move away makes sense.
Speaking exclusively West Ham Zone, Bardell said: “I think he will suit what Nottingham Forest are doing this season more than West Ham.
“I think Ward-Prowse with the players they have in front of him will be a good fit there. He wasn’t going to get football under Lopetegui this year but I think he’ll go straight into Forest and start.
“It is clear that he was a David Moyes signing and now they’re in a Lopetegui era.“
James Ward-Prowse to leave West Ham for Nottingham Forest
Ward-Prowse hasn’t had the best time of it in East London although has been a consistent player in the engine room when called upon.
Under Moyes, his industrious style of play alongside the likes of Tomas Soucek was useful but his spell appears to already be over.
The new Spanish head coach wants to implement his own tactical philosophy on the side and the former England international clearly doesn’t fit into those plans.

A move to Forest could help to get the best out of him and see him return next year or be sold on for as close to the £30m paid as possible.
