Dan Plumley reacts as West Ham United threaten legal action on London Stadium landlords over prices

We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive West Ham United columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium...

Daniel Plumley has insisted that the prices that West Ham United are fighting against at the London Stadium are simply “ridiculous.”

The Finance Expert did admit that with the Irons getting such a good rental agreement, this is the downside that comes along with that, with legal action now being threatened [Standard].

It has been described as “bad PR” this whole saga, although it is expected that riding it out along with action being taken will hopefully solve the issue.

There are pros and cons to that agreement,” he exclusively told West Ham Zone.

“This is one of the ones that goes against West Ham in favour terms. They are looking into and hopefully, those prices will come down a little, but I still think they will be high given where we’ve seen them.

“It is a downside of the West Ham situation, but the counterargument has always been that the deal they are getting is so cheap compared to other clubs. This is bad PR but they will ride it out and take a bit of action and hopefully, that solves the problem.

“It’s ridiculous.”

West Ham United are fighting back.

There may be positives and negatives of the brilliant deal that the Irons have to play at the London Stadium, but that should have nothing to do with the prices of food and drink.

Those are simply ludicrous as things stand, even with the slight drop since this has happened.

Thankfully, GSBK and those in the boardroom are fighting back, and the hope is that the prices eventually come down to an average level to reflect the rest of the Premier League.
