Brownhill ‘to demand £15m signing-on fee’ as Burnley exit update drops – Exclusive
Josh Brownhill could demand a sizable fee to be convinced to join West Ham this summer.
The Englishman is coming off the back of a season where he played a key role as the Clarets were promoted to the Premier League with 100 points.
Despite this, the 29-year-old is yet to agree a new deal at Turf Moor and could be set to leave once the calendar ticks over to 1 July.
The Hammers have showcased a keen interest in Brownhill, but may have to fork out a fee in the region of £15m to land his signature.

Brownhill to demand West Ham payout to quit Burnley
The window still has over two months to go, and Graham Potter is likely to be working hard to line up a number of transfers ready for the new season.
Midfield options are likely to be involved on that shortlist, especially after missing out on Angel Gomes to Marseille on a free transfer.
The Irons’ head coach won’t want to replicate the disappointment of missing out on the England international, so he could do his best to land the Burnley man.
As a result, a sizable offer could be tabled to the ex-Bristol City man, something which he could demand as part of a free transfer agreement.
Former Brentford and Leicester City manager Martin Allen belives Brownhill could demand a signing-on fee of £15m to move to East London this summer.
Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, Allen said: “Brownhill is a good player, there’s no doubt about that.
“He’ll chip in with goals in the Premier League, I’m sure. He’ll get at least six goals from open play, which would be good going, and West Ham do lack goals in midfield.
“Besides Soucek, there’s no goals in that part of the pitch at all. As good as Soucek is at scoring, his mobility is against him.
“Brownhill is younger, likes to get on the ball and play, just been promoted with Burnley, I think he’d be a good signing.
“Would he join West Ham? The question is around money. There will be other clubs coming in for Brownhill for sure.
“Because he’ll be a free transfer and West Ham won’t have to pay a fee, he’s in a position to demand a £15m signing-on fee instead of them having to pay £25m for the transfer fee.
“When players leave on free transfers, they want the money saved in their contract or as a signing-on fee. What would his wages be?
“I imagine he’ll be looking for between £40k and £60k a week, in that bracket.“

Brownhill could shine for West Ham
There is no doubt that the addition of a midfielder with 24 goal involvements last season would be a huge boost for the Hammers.
Stats | Josh Brownhill |
Appearances | 44 |
Goals | 18 |
Assists | 6 |
Alongside the likes of James Ward-Prowse and someone like Edson Alvarez, the Englishman could shine with the freedom to get forward.
This could be the perfect attribute to add to Potter’s side ahead of his first full season in charge at the London Stadium.
