£50m Jarrod Bowen transfer claim emerges amid West Ham United exit development

Dan Bardell has suggested that West Ham United could demand up to £60million for Jarrod Bowen this summer but doesn’t see him leaving.

It has been reported by the Telegraph (23 May) that Newcastle United could look to sign the Hammers star in the transfer window.

The Englishman signed a contract at the London Stadium in October which lasts until 2030 [Sky Sports] so it would take a lot to sign him.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell has suggested how much could be demanded by Julen Lopetegui’s side this summer.

Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, Bardell said: “I think he would be a £50-60m player. Someone who has been a reliable Premier League player for a good period of time now scoring goals.

“I’m not convinced that Newcastle would be able to afford the fee that they would want for him. He’s always seemed happy there, he doesn’t seem like someone who is going to want to leave.

He’s been playing European football consistently so I don’t think Bowen would go. I can’t see him going, I see him as someone who could be at West Ham for the rest of his career.

Maybe the Euros could change things if he doesn’t make the final squad but I see him being at West Ham for his career.

Jarrod Bowen set to extend West Ham stay

Bowen has been a consistent star at the London Stadium ever since joining the Hammers from Hull City back in January 2020.

This has seen him score 60 goals for the club with 16 goals being added to by six assists across 34 starts in the Premier League last season [FotMob].

The telling detail about his time with the club is his contract which was given to last seven years which is almost unheard of.

Bowen has been linked to Newcastle but given that they aren’t in European competition then that move makes very little sense.

West Ham

He may prove frustrated if he is cut from the European Championship squad by Gareth Southgate but would he leave the club?

It feels like unless an elite side playing regular Champions League football comes in for him then a move is unlikely.

Playing for England at a major tournament would be great but the quality ahead of him is top class and he can’t do much more than he is doing.
