WHZ View: 89% dribble success – David Moyes discovers new West Ham weapon v Leeds

West Ham United winger Said Benrahma finally earned his first Premier League start against Leeds on Friday evening.

The Hammers cruised to a 2-1 win in the end at Elland Road, and it could have been much more in West Yorkshire.

The Algerian international was superb and definitely repaid David Moyes for the faith shown in him to change the system.

With Arthur Masuaku out injured, the Hammers changed to four-at-the-back.

That saw Benrahma move in-behind Sebastien Haller, and he caused Kalvin Phillips constant problems with his ability to drift into space.

The 25-year-old had six shots on goal, and although only one of them were on target, he came close from distance on numerous occasions.

His dribbling was when he was at his best. Benrahma completed 89% of his dribbles at Elland Road and made four progressive runs forward according to WyScout.

This is exactly what we have waited for.

Benrahma certainly stole the show at Elland Road, and Moyes appears to have found the perfect system for him to thrive.

The 25-year-old started centrally ahead of Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek, but looking at his heat-map from the clash, he had the ability to drift into the dangerous areas.

Having that player who can join Pablo Fornals and Jarrod Bowen and also interchange with them at any given time is clearly working.

Moyes will more than likely stick with this side for the game with Crystal Palace on Wednesday evening.

This will give Benrahma the perfect chance to claim he first Premier League goal, something he definitely deserves.
