West Ham United to already seek Jean-Clair Todibo transfer after what happened

West Ham United’s on-pitch struggles under Julen Lopetegui have firecharged emotions around the London Stadium.

Supporters have been rallying for the Spaniard to be sacked after just six months in charge, having taken over as head coach following David Moyes’ controversial exit during the summer.

The former Wolves figure has shown signs of positivity in some performances, especially during the most recent 2-1 win in the “El Sackico” on Monday 9 December, but that has done little to alleviate frustrations.

With an upcoming clash against Bournemouth, it is understood that a defeat could be the final straw with Graham Potter in line to become the manager [Sami Mokbel].

Given how leaky the Hammers’ defence has been this season, and how impressive the Cherries have been, it could be a very sorry night for Lopetegui at the Vitality Stadium.

One player who has not helped proceedings at all is Jean-Clair Todibo. The Frenchman has not even joined on a permanent deal yet after signing on loan with an obligation to buy this summer [BBC Sport].

It is unlike David Sullivan to splash the cash, but with the centre-back likely to cost the Hammers over £33million at the end of the current campaign, he may already be regretting his decision.

Todibo was the subject of an altercation with the head coach currently, lashing out at Lopetegui during the 5-2 defeat to Arsenal last month, actions which were condemned by Jarrod Bowen [ExWHUEmployee].

Those are not the actions of a player who should wear the West Ham badge on his chest. Of course, passion is key to success but this was much too far and at the wrong moment.

He was totally out of line, and while Mohammed Kudus’ actions were wrong, at least he attempted an apology.

Could Todibo’s future already be on the line despite not signing permanently yet? Plans would, of course, need to wait until the summer but it would not be a total surprise.
