West Ham United must sign Luke Thomas instead of Filip Kostic
West Ham are interested in making a move for Leicester City full-back Luke Thomas this summer, according to The Guardian.
The Hammers are in the market to sign a left-back to bolster their defensive unit and have been heavily linked with Eintracht Frankfurt’s Filip Kostic.
As per the latest report, the Irons are also looking at the possibility of signing Thomas who still has two years left on his current deal with the Foxes.

West Ham had many problems to address at the start of the transfer window and as the season is about to start, they’ve nearly addressed all of the issues.
However, one position which still demands some attention is the full-back department where there is a need to provide backup for Aaron Cresswell or maybe bring an upgrade.

The signing of Maxwel Cornet seems to be a step in that direction as he can play in different but he is not an outright defensive-minded full-back.
Therefore, it makes total sense if West Ham make a move for someone like Thomas who is highly rated in the football community.
The 21-year-old is a Leicester academy product and was promoted to the senior team in the summer of 2020 after the departure of Ben Chilwell who joined Chelsea in a deal worth £45 million.
Since then, the England U21 international has played 61 matches for the Foxes across all competitions, scoring two times and providing four assists in the process [Transfermarkt].
Forget Kostic, this is the one that should be targeted.
