West Ham United must forget Igor Jesus dream as Botafogo release clause revealed
West Ham United must forget their dream of signing Igor Jesus after his release clause at Botafogo came to light.
RTI Esporte reported on 16 November that the Brazilian Serie A club will not sell the striker unless his £83.5million release clause is met.
Botafogo are aware of interest in the 23-year-old, but will not engage in talks over a sale until the end of their season in December, while Arsenal have also entered the race to sign him.
West Ham United must forget Igor Jesus dream as Botafogo release clause emerges
The Irons have been heavily linked with a move for Jesus in recent weeks after GE Globo revealed on 3 November that they have made a £30million offer for him. Botafogo owner John Textor quickly confirmed the East London outfit’s interest.
However, the Serie A contenders have been firm on their stance that they will not entertain offers for the Brazil international until their season is over as they look to get their title push over the line.
While waiting until December would have been fine as the transfer window only opens in January anyway, West Ham must walk away from any potential deal instead of wasting their time.

Botafogo signed the striker from Shabab Al-Ahli on a free transfer in July and is being unrealistic by demanding a £83.5million transfer fee for him now.
Jesus has netted eight goals and provided three assists in 24 games since arriving in Rio, but such an amount is still too much for him.
In other West Ham news, the Irons are also looking to strengthen their midfield in January and are eyeing a move for this La Liga star.
