West Ham United must act now to secure Thomas Tuchel signature after Manchester United update
West Ham United appear to be set to part company with David Moyes at the end of the season as various names continue to be linked with the London Stadium.
The latest reports from David Ornstein [22 April] suggest that Sporting boss Ruben Amorim is the top name on the Hammers’ list of successors, with Julien Lopetegui also obsessed ahead of the end of the season.
Another name that has previously linked to the London Stadium is Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel who is set to leave the German giants come the end of the Bundesliga season [talkSPORT, 20 February].
The door may have now opened for West Ham to swoop in and secure the German’s signature ahead of the end of the season, with reports from ESPN [22 April] confirming that Tuchel is keen to return to the Premier League having previously managed Chelsea.
Will West Ham United sack David Moyes at the London Stadium?
While the suggestion from those in charge at the London Stadium has always been that they will assess Moyes’ position come the end of the season, they may need to kick start their succession plans as other clubs are looking for new managers.
While Amorim has previously been linked with Liverpool, ESPN’s report suggests that Tuchel would be interested in taking the Manchester United job should Erik ten Hag be relieved of his duties at Old Trafford this summer.
United are yet to make a decision over the Dutchman’s future and it seems likely that their FA Cup semi-final win over Coventry City may have given him some breathing space at least until the end of the season.

That means West Ham have a window of opportunity to swoop in and secure Tuchel’s signature this summer if they genuinely want to bring him to East London before the job at Old Trafford becomes available.
Whether it is Amorim, Lopetegui or Tuchel who is top of the Hammers list, they must act now and part ways with Moyes to get their man ahead of the end of the season, otherwise, it could be too late.
