Vladimir Coufal edges closer to West Ham United exit as ‘further talks’ held for replacement

Vladimir Coufal may have played his final match at the London Stadium as West Ham continue their search for a new right-back.

The 31-year-old has been a regular for the Hammers since arriving from Slavia Prague in 2020, going on to make 155 appearances in all competitions.

However, with the passing of the old guard from David Moyes to Julen Lopetegui, some players are ultimately going to be moved on. Coufal could be one of those sacrificed.

Turkish giants Galatasaray are weighing up a summer move for the right-back, according to Mehmet Ozcan via ASpor [28 June], with just 12 months left on his current contract.

Following Ben Johnson’s disappointing exit, plus the Czechia international heading into the final year of his contract, the Hammers are making headway in finding a suitable replacement already.

Mazraoui’s spell at Bayern has not worked out as well as many expected, but there is undoubtedly a talented player inside waiting to break out of the mould.
