West Ham United duo Michael Forbes and Patrick Kelly have huge opportunity to impress, David Moyes should be watching

West Ham United have had plenty of players in action for their respective nations during the current international break.

But Hammers manager David Moyes will be keen to get them all back as soon as possible, with a key part of the season coming up.

There are, however, plenty of international matches still to be played before all of his squad are back at Rush Green for the return of the Premier League.

And certain to be involved for their nation are Hammers pair Michael Forbes and Patrick Kelly, two youngsters who currently play for West Ham Under-21s and have been included in the latest Northern Ireland Under-21 squad.

They also play at Under-21 level internationally, with the duo set to line out for Northern Ireland in their clash with England Under-21s on Tuesday (21 November).

Tommy Wright’s men take on Lee Carsley’s side in a UEFA U21 Euro 2025 qualifier at Everton’s Goodison Park, with several scouts certain to be in attendance given the long list of young stars on show for both nations.

Hammers boss Moyes may also tune in given that two young Hammers men may be involved, particularly given how the manager may have lost both Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen to injury [Standard, 20 November].

Central defender Forbes and central midfielder Kelly may, therefore, not be too far away from the first team scene at the London Stadium, and now have the perfect opportunity to impress, in what will be a very tough test for the visitors.

They currently sit rock bottom of the group, with their opponents occupying second spot as Ukraine top the standings, with all three having played four matches each.

In other West Ham news, a report has shared how Hammers insiders feel about a European ace, with a January transfer on the cards for the player.
