West Ham United can inject new lease of life into Adnan Januzaj
David Moyes could be looking towards the free agents market for his first West Ham United signing of the summer with a familiar face to him.
The Scotsman’s time at Manchester United in the 2013-14 season did not go as he’d hoped but one of the few bright lights of that campaign was that of Belgian winger Adnan Januzaj.
Now 27 years of age, he has been plying his trade in La Liga for some time at Real Sociedad, another former club of Moyes’, but he is now set to be released by Los Txuri-Urdin at the end of his contract [El Desmarque].

The Spanish media outlet report that Barcelona and Roma are among some of the interested clubs across Europe as well as the Hammers but he is yet to find himself a new permanent home for the 2022-23 campaign.
He may have fallen out of favour in Spain towards the end of his time with Sociedad but that was probably more down to his contract situation than his footballing ability.
As he proved in the 2018 World Cup when he scored the winner against England in the group stage, he still has the necessary talent to be a match-winner on the biggest stages in football and to have the chance to bring him to the London Stadium is something we can’t afford to let go easily.

It might mean a change of position for either Bowen or the Belgian himself but it would still be preferable to having Said Benrahma play out of position on the left-wing.
Let’s not forget how good Januzaj was as a youngster when Moyes gave him the chance at Old Trafford and if he can find that kind of spark again when he is reunited with the boss, things will look very rosy indeed for the Irons.
In other West Ham news, the traditions of pre-season at the Hammers could be under threat as London Stadium works could see the annual game postponed.
