West Ham signing Charlie Taylor will make total sense

West Ham United are interested in making a move for Burnley defender Charlie Taylor this summer, according to talkSport.

The Hammers are in the market to sign a full-back in the ongoing transfer window to bolster their squad for the 2022-23 season.

For this purpose, as per the latest report, the Irons are looking to make a move for the 28-year-old who still has two years left on his current deal.

Good business

West Ham entered the transfer market knowing that they must sign a left-back to have any chance of improving their standings from the previous campaign.

With less than two weeks remaining in the window, the Hammers have not been able to find a player to strengthen that particular position.

They’ve been linked with the likes of Chelsea’s Emerson and Juventus’ newly-signed player Filip Kostic but to no avail.

On paper, the fans will not going to be over the moon by hearing that the club are now interested in making a move for the player who is playing who is just four years younger than the player he is supposed to replace.

But looking at the player’s statistics, this move makes total sense as in the previous campaign where Burnley suffered relegation, Taylor played 31 matches for the club where he managed to make 1.5 tackles, 1.9 interceptions, 2.3 clearances, and 0.6 blocks per game [Whoscored].

Those numbers are significantly better than West Ham’s current number one left-back Aaron Cresswell who averaged 0.9 tackles, 1.1 interceptions, 2.1 clearances and 0.6 blocks per game [Whoscored].

Taylor could be the perfect new signing – keep your eye on this one.
