West Ham must move rapid to sign Emmanuel Dennis as club circles

West Ham must move rapidly to secure the signing of breathtaking Watford ace Emmanuel Dennis with interest in the attacker increasing.

After a rather successful 2021/22 campaign David Moyes will undoubtedly look to strengthen his ranks.

The Irons made an excellent account of themselves in all competitions in the last term but ultimately their squad depth let them down as they fell short of their targets which is something they are trying to rectify ahead of the 2022/23 season.

According to the print edition of The Mirror [18 June, page 66], the Hammers have driven forward with their bid to sign the Nigeria international.

However, the east Londoners will most likely face a tough fight for the 24-year-old’s signature with Premier League rivals Everton lurking in the shadows.

Mail Sport Journalist Tom Collomosse has reported the Merseysiders’ interest in the attacker on Twitter, he said: “Emmanuel Dennis is one of those Everton may look at if Richarlison leaves this summer.

“Watford will sell. Would want about £20m – he has contract until 2026.”

The key factor here is whether Richarlison is staying at Goodison Park or not and given his quality and just how bad the Blues did last season – you wouldn’t be surprised if he left which means Frank Lampard will most likely be in the hunt for Dennis.

If West Ham move quickly and effectively, they will have absolutely nothing to worry about because they undoubtedly have more pull than the Toffees.

16 goal involvements in 33 games during his first season in the Premier League is a very healthy return – imagine what he could be capable of once he hits his stride.

His versatility is a huge bonus too, not only can the former Brugge ace play as a striker but his blistering pace has seen him play on both wings on many occasions. This is exactly the type of player the Hammers need to sign to improve.
