West Ham have to try and sign Luca Pellegrini in January
West Ham were heavily linked with a move for Luca Pellegrini in the last transfer window, only for the player to remain with Juventus.
That has proven to be an unwise decision, and after initially turning the Hammers down, it is time for the 22-year-old to realise the error of his ways and move to the London Stadium [Il Bianconero].
However, after the latest report from Corriere Torino, the Irons are going to have to act quickly as they now face competition from another team in Sampdoria.
The Serie A side are said to be looking at signing the versatile Juve player, and this could be the kick that the Irons need to swoop in and add him to David Moyes’ team.
Pellegrini is a left-back but can play anywhere on the left, which you would think should come in handy if the Hammers are still competing on four fronts by the time January comes around.
If the Irons were to make a move for Pellegrini, they would be signing a player who has been described as “incredible” by Breaking The Lines.
As well as this, that ability to play all down the left would give Moyes options to rest and rotate the likes of Aaron Cresswell and Said Benrahma.
Now, given that Sampdoria are interested, we would suggest that the Irons get a move on and make an early offer for Pellegrini in January.
Certainly, we will be keeping a close eye on this deal and will bring you any updates as soon as we get them.
