View: Mark Noble starts in 3 changes -West Ham predicted XI for Premier League clash v Manchester City
West Ham prepare to face Manchester City in the Premier League at the London Stadium on Sunday [May 15] in their last home game of the season.
Having been knocked out of the Europa League, the Hammers have their sights set on sixth place in the league in order to qualify for next year’s tournament.
With Manchester United currently leading the race, David Moyes will go full strength against what will be a very tough Pep Guardiola side as they look to beat Liverpool to the title.
Lukasz Fabianski will have the hard job of keeping the Cityzens at bay in between the sticks – not many will envy that task.
Ahead of him, Ben Johnson comes in for Vladimir Coufal. The youngsters’ pace and energy will be needed in defence with the Sky Blues expected to have a lot of runners out wide.
Craig Dawson is expected to be fit for the clash and will be immediately thrown back into the action having been forced off against Norwich. The Englishman will partner former Chelsea ace Kurt Zouma at the centre of defence and the pair cant afford to put a foot wrong all game.
Aaron Cresswell will be tasked with shutting up shop at left-back. If the Hammers get any set-pieces, his delivery might prove crucial to Moyes’ side most likely to have limited opportunities in front of goal.
In his last ever home game as a West Ham player, Mark Noble will start. The veteran will play alongside Declan Rice in central midfield – the man who will be taking his captaincy at the end of the season.
This season’s star attacker Jarrod Bowen will occupy the right-wing with Manuel Lanzini playing a more advanced role in attacking midfield after he dropped back into the eight at Carrow Road.
Nikola Vlasic is a surprise inclusion – his pace will be vital as the Irons look to hit the league leaders on the break. He comes in for Pablo Fornals who will be handed a much-needed rest.
Unsurprisingly, Michail Antonio will start upfront. The Jamaica international is also expected to be fit for the last home game of the season having hobbled off against Norwich last time out.
