Three changes, Ben Johnson returns and Michail Antonio rested - Predicted XI vs Tottenham
West Ham are expected to make three changes for their Carabao Cup quarter-final clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night.
The Hammers will be taking to the pitch for the first time since their defeat against Arsenal last week, following the postponement of their Premier League fixture against Norwich at the weekend.
With a place in the semi-finals of the cup up for grabs, David Moyes will be looking to add to the momentum his side have built in the competition having already eliminated both Manchester United and Man City.
Alphonse Areola will likely get the nod in goal having managed clean sheets in both his appearances in the competition so far.
In defence, the Hammers have a long injury or suspension list with Kurt Zouma, Angelo Ogbonna, Vladimir Coufal, Ryan Fredericks and Aaron Cresswell all unavailable.
That means there isn’t much room for rotation so Craig Dawson, Issa Diop and Arthur Masuaku will keep their places in the team. Ben Johnson is expected to be fit enough to return, so should start at right-back.
The Carabao Cup is usually a chance to rotate the team a bit for Moyes, but with a chance to make the semi-finals it’s likely that both Declan Rice and Thomas Soucek will keep their place in midfield.
Manuel Lanzini and Jared Bowen should keep their place in the team, but Said Benrahma should come into the side in place of Pablo Fornals.
In attack, Andriy Yarmolenko should get the nod upfront to allow Michail Antonio a well earned rest.
Here’s how we expect West Ham to line up against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup quarter-final clash.
