Potter ‘must now convince Ferguson of West Ham move’ as transfer decision mooted
Graham Potter has to move quickly to convince Evan Ferguson to join West Ham.
The Hammers are in desperate need of a striker in the winter window after both Niclas Fullkrug and Michail Antonio were ruled out for the foreseeable.
It appears that the new Irons boss doesn’t trust Danny Ings from the start of games which has often left his side light in forward areas since taking over.
With that being said, utilising links to Brighton forward Ferguson could prove to be smart business but may need to convince the Republic of Ireland international of the move.
West Ham must convince Brighton and Evan Ferguson for January deal
The East London outfit have been linked with a move for the 20-year-old throughout January with a loan-to-buy deal reported in recent weeks [TEAMtalk].
With just over a week remaining in the window, the Hammers need to move quickly to complete a deal but may now need to do some convincing first.
French outfit Marseille want the young forward on loan and could be interested in linking up with Roberto Di Zerbi, who also worked together at Brighton [Alan Nixon].
The Seagulls may be more willing to let Ferguson depart on a temporary deal to Europe rather than a Premier League rival.
As a result, Potter and Co. have plenty of convincing to try and bring the Irishman to the London Stadium with the little time remaining this month.

If the Englishman can tempt his former striker to the capital, Fabian Hurzeler’s side may be more willing to let the striker move to E20.
It could be a tough task for the Irons to now complete a deal but the hard work to do so may prove to be worth it across the second half of the season if it pays off.
