Mavropanos sweating over West Ham United future as new transfer update emerges

West Ham United’s biggest struggle has been the number of goals being leaked under Julen Lopetegui’s reign.

David Moyes was slammed for his defensive style of play while also shipping the fourth-most goals in the Premier League last term, and that trend has not changed despite a difference in personnel.

Only Leicester City, Wolves and Southampton have picked the ball out the back of the net more than the Hammers, seeing them fall to 14th in the table after 15 matches.

The selection of Max Kilman, Jean-Clair Todibo and Konstantinos Mavropanos is certainly part of the reason for that, and a new addition to the backline is crucial for their survival this season.

According to TBR Football, the Hammers are keen on signing Chelsea defender Axel Disasi ahead of the January transfer window, with a potential loan deal on the cards.

Dinos Mavropanos to exit West Ham United as new defender eyed?

Mavropanos has been a figure who has split opinions during his time in East London, and this season has been a real eye-opener for those at the London Stadium.

Kilman and Todibo are beginning to form a partnership at the London Stadium, leaving the 27-year-old to come in and out of the starting XI, but that could be about to change.

Many expected the defender to leave during the summer transfer window, and with Disasi now being targeted, it could be the end of Mavropanos’ chapter in East London.

In other West Ham news, a third return for David Moyes could be on the cards after recent developments.
