Mavropanos should pack his bags after West Ham United transfer revelation
Konstantinos Mavropanos could be heading for the exit door at West Ham United.
The 27-year-old recently regained his spot in the starting lineup in East London after a half-time bust-up in the 5-2 loss against Arsenal between Jean-Clair Todibo and Julen Lopetegui saw the Frenchman axed from his first team duties [Daily Mail].
However, Todibo has since taken to Instagram after replacing Mavropanos at half-time during the 1-1 draw against Brighton to address comments regarding his future at the London Stadium and reaffirm his loyalty to West Ham.
He said: “I’m not gonna leave big man. West Ham are massive!! Don’t believe the media.”
Now that relations between Lopetegui and Todibo appear to have repaired, Mavropanos could be tossed back into the cold in East London.
Konstantinos Mavropanos may be forced to leave West Ham United
Mavropanos was touted to complete a sensational return to Bundesliga outfit VfB Stuttgart in the summer before the rumours were quashed by Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg [22 August], but he may now be wishing he pursued an Irons exit when he had the chance.
The Greek international has endured a topsy-turvy campaign at the London Stadium – he was at one point lauded as a “world beater” for his display for Greece in the 2-1 win against England in the UEFA Nations League and started the first five matches of the season for Lopetegui.
However, once Todibo had settled into life in the Premier League, everything changed, and despite the abysmal results, Lopetegui chose to stick with the French international and Max Kilman in central defence.
And after he single-handedly cost West Ham three points by giving away a 90th-minute free-kick that Enes Unal converted to salvage a share of the spoils in the 1-1 draw against Bournemouth – all his hopes of remaining a regular starter rested on Todibo remaining out of the first team frame.

Now, with an easy clash on paper up next against Premier League strugglers Southampton on Boxing Day, Lopetegui has the perfect fixture to ease Todibo back into the side to continue his partnership with Kilman, who appears to be the only set-in-stone option at centre-back.
Mavropanos has had ample opportunity to stake a claim at West Ham, but to no avail, and as he prepares to endure an extended spell in the dugout, he could very well pack his bags in the capital.
