Luis Guilherme set for final West Ham audition after crushing injury news

West Ham star Luis Guilherme may have been granted a lifeline after a new injury update from Rush Green.

The Brazilian has featured just seven times for the Hammers since moving to the London Stadium in the summer, coming off the bench against Chelsea on 3 February.

However, he may have a chance for a final audition in East London after Crysencio Summerville was ruled out for a further eight weeks (Sean Whetstone).

The 18-year-old has been the subject of interest from Porto and Feyenoord, with the transfer window still open for the latter (VI).

Final chance for Luis Guilherme at West Ham?

The fact that the former Palmeiras man has been unable to force his way into the Irons first-team fold despite the £25million fee that he arrived for is damning.

Especially considering Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug have been out of action for a considerable period and Jarrod Bowen has only returned recently.

If he thought that the appointment of Graham Potter after Julen Lopetegui was sacked may have changed his fortunes, he was very wrong.

Since the former Chelsea man took his place in the dugout, Guilherme has featured for just 15 minutes in all competitions, less than he did under the Spaniard.

The failure of the summer transfer window which includes the Brazilian’s signature has led to sporting director Tim Steidten losing his job at the London Stadium (Florian Plettenberg).

Guilherme simply cannot be allowed to leave the London club now.

The young star might finally be given a chance to redeem himself in East London with the latest Hammers injury blow, he has to take it with both hands.

In other West Ham news, Gary Neville has responded to a late Hammers transfer announcement.
