Luis Guilherme could receive rare opportunity amid West Ham United issues
Luis Guilherme cannot be blamed for having a keen eye on more first-team opportunities for West Ham United in the near future.
Julen Lopetegui has been let down by Mohammed Kudus and with the Hammers set to miss their Ghanaian magician for at least three games, Guilherme, 18, will see himself rise in the pecking order.
Crysencio Summerville is likely to be the main beneficiary of Kudus’ absence, and should start the upcoming Premier League game against Manchester United [October 27].
But Summerville’s anticipated starting berth allows the Brazilian teenager, who became the first new signing of the Lopetegui era back in June, to potentially be the impact substitute on the flanks.
Luis Guilherme to feature more for West Ham?
Guilherme, signed for upwards of £25million, was bought as a clear investment project, and is expected to develop into a stunning footballer.
The former Palmeiras forward was a first-team regular back in his homeland before making the move to the Premier League, in which he made his debut in a late cameo against Ipswich Town [5 October].
He has been given opportunities in the Under-21 side, for whom he has also got on the scoresheet, but Kudus’ ban could represent a door left ajar for some senior action.

Summerville is heavily mooted to be the man to come in and try to save the job security of Lopetegui, who has endured a tough start to life back in the English top flight.
Guilherme will play with a freedom and a youthful confidence that may just inspire an ageing Irons side to realise what they have.
