Lopetegui to face West Ham sack after what happened in 3-1 loss v Leicester City
David Sullivan must pull the trigger on sacking Julen Lopetegui on Tuesday night after West Ham were defeated 3-1 by Leicester City.
The Spaniard has been under pressure ever since replacing David Moyes during the summer, with fans desperately unhappy with the appointment by the Hammers.
Of course, many at the London Stadium attempted to show faith and put their trust in the new head coach but even after a plethora of signings, he has shown nothing to repay them.
The Hammers are now just two points above their opponents in the Premier League table, sitting 14th after 14 matches with just four victories and seven defeats.
Lopetegui’s future was reportedly riding on back-to-back fixtures against Newcastle United and Arsenal [The Guardian], and while the win against the Magpies was impressive, they crumbled against the Gunners.
Now, the head coach has yet more questions to answer following their 3-1 loss to Leicester at the King Power Stadium on 3 December, and there should be nothing he can say to save himself.
West Ham United to sack Julen Lopetegui instantly after Leicester City defeat
Time has been ticking down on Lopetegui’s tenure ever since he stepped foot into the London Stadium and fans have only raised their voices when making their feelings known.
While the Hammers did dictate possession and had plenty of chances, the cutting edge was just not there, and the head coach is ultimately who pays the price for those missed opportunities.
Despite a number of high-quality chances, the Irons were only able to hit the back of the net through Niclas Fullkrug in added time. No wonder supporters are pulling their hair out.

Sullivan will not want to admit defeat with his latest managerial decision but it has been coming for a long time now. It is the only way to get the fans back onside, and there are plenty of options for replacements.
Ex-Porto man Sergio Conceicao is the latest manager to be linked with a move to East London [The Guardian] and it would be absolutely baffling if Sullivan did not pull the trigger following the embarrassing defeat to Leicester.
In other West Ham news, Jarrod Bowen was the only bright spark as another player got a 2/10 rating v Leicester City.
