West Ham progressed to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup with a tremendous 3-1 win against Arsenal at the London Stadium on Wednesday night.

Ben White’s own goal opened the scoring for the Irons after he headed Jarrod Bowen’s corner past Aaron Ramsdale, who claimed to have been fouled by Tomas Soucek.

After the break, Mohammad Kudus and Jarrod Bowen scored superb finishes to round off a mightily impressive return to winning form for the Irons.

Martin Odegaard scored a late consolation goal for Arsenal.

Here, West Ham Zone rates the players out of 10 for their performances against the Gunners.

Lukasz Fabianski – 7

Fabianski didn’t have much to do due to how well the defenders performed in front of him. He’ll have enjoyed that game though, especially as he doesn’t start every week anymore.

Vladimir Coufal – 7

It’s always nice to see Coufal play well. The Czech right-back was on top of his game yet again to help West Ham return to winning ways and progress to the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.

Konstantinos Mavropanos – 7

Playing against his former side, Mavropanos was in good form. Mikel Arteta’s side struggled to break down West Ham’s defence and the Greek colossus played a big role in that.

Nayef Aguerd – 8

It’s worth watching Aguerd’s long-range pass to Kudus again for the Ghana star to score his goal against Arsenal. It was sensational. Aguerd also defended well against Arsenal.

Emerson Palmieri – 7

The Hammers are a much better team with Emerson in the side than they are when Aaron Cresswell plays. That was evident after he served a one-match ban against Everton and returned to the side against Arsenal.

Tomas Soucek – 6

He was very lucky to not be adjudged to have fouled Aaron Ramsdale when White’s own goal went in during the first half. Soucek was clearly pulling on the Arsenal goalkeeper’s shirt but luckily for him and for West Ham, VAR was not in use.

Edson Alvarez – 8

Declan who? Alvarez was in fine form in the middle of the park. He dominated Arsenal’s midfielders, who had no answer to the Mexican’s aggression.

Mohammed Kudus – 8

Kudus was superb on and off the ball. He tracked back well and scored a brilliant goal to cap off his performance against Arsenal.

Lucas Paqueta – 7

People might complain that 7/10 is a low rating for Paqueta because he did so well after the break. But this rating can be seen as generous given how poor and wasteful in possession he was in the first 44 minutes.

Said Benrahama – 8

When Benrahma’s on form, he really shines. The Algeria international worked hard throughout, chipped in defensively and looked technically sound when he was on the ball.

Jarrod Bowen – 9 (Man of the match)

Yet another incredible performance by Bowen, who’s shown that Moyes can start him up front more often. Bowen’s movement and work rate were superb and he fully deserved his goal.

Substitutions:

James Ward-Prowse (on for Benrahma, 81′) – 6

Thilo Kehrer (on for Kudus, 89′) – N/A
