West Ham United manager news: David Moyes ‘priority’ for Celtic as Ange Postecoglou agrees to Tottenham job
West Ham boss David Moyes is the “priority” target to replace Ange Postecoglou at Celtic, according to Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna.
The Australian has reportedly agreed to take over at Tottenham [Sky Sports, 5 June], after completing a domestic treble at Parkhead with the Scottish Cup victory over Inverness Caley Thistle on Saturday (3 June).
Moyes still has the Europa Conference League final to contest against Fiorentina with the Hammers on Wednesday (7 June), but according to The Guardian (2 June) he could be sacked if they lose.

Either way it looks like the Scot will have another option on the table in his home nation as the Hoops have him at the top of their list.
Reporting via Twitter Aouna wrote: “Understand David Moyes is the priority at Celtic Glasgow to replace Ange Postecoglou who has already agreed a deal with Tottenham.”

For much of the season most West Ham fans would have been happy to see Moyes leave as the club struggled badly in the Premier League, and only escaped relegation late in the year.
The board were unmoved and apparently could not see any suitable alternatives, and looked to have been rewarded for their patience by the run to a European final.
But with the latest report that he could be let go either way changing the landscape once more he appears set to have another big job to walk straight into if that happens.

Postecoglou has left some big shoes to fill after winning five of the six domestic trophies on offer in his two seasons in Glasgow, but it would look to be a situation that would see Moyes land on his feet if West Ham are done with him.
Should he lift the Conference League trophy however the matter may become more complicated, as it would perhaps be difficult for the board to sack him at that point, having refused to do so amid poor results all season.
Big decisions are on the horizon following the final this week, and whether Moyes is set to face off against Postecoglou as a London rival in the Premier League or follow in his footsteps in the SPFL looks to be chief among them.
