West Ham United delay David Moyes contract offer after new twist
Negotiations over a new contract for David Moyes have slowed at West Ham as a result of the recent poor run of form and supporter unrest, according to Sportslens.
The sports news outlet reported on 7 February that the board have been wary about the timing of a new contract offer, and remain open-minded about their managerial situation given the run of six games without a win.
It is also said that, while board members recognise the job Moyes has done at the London Stadium, they are concerned about the potential backlash of keeping him at the club beyond this season.
Fans concerns should be heard
It has frequently been dismissed as a small section of the West Ham support who are unhappy with Moyes’ tenure, given their Europa Conference League win last season and their currently lofty league position as well as Europa League progress.
However, it appears that section of the crowd has had its desired effect on the board, who now have reservations surrounding the offer of a new contract.
It was previously reported that the board would take plenty of time to make their decision, considering all options and paths towards who will be the boss next season, and it now seems those considerations have seen a delay in the process.

Six games without a win, and reservations about the style of play and whether it is getting the best out of the players, have now led to the board questioning their decision, despite pundits frequently backing the manager.
Moyes, however, is set to be at an advanced stage in negotiations with the club over the potential new contract, so any delays would likely be a cause for concern for the boss.
