David Moyes to meet David Sullivan on Friday to discuss West Ham United future – Sky Sports

David Moyes is set to meet up with David Sullivan on Friday and hold a meeting on Friday to discuss his future at West Ham United, according to Sky Sports.

Moyes became only the third manager in the club’s history to lift a trophy thanks to a 2-1 win over Fiorentina to win the Europa Conference League final, with owner Sullivan confirming in the aftermath that his place at the club was safe if he wanted to stay on.

Now Sky Sports are reporting (8 June) that the two will meet on Friday to discuss his future, having been linked with the vacant Celtic manager’s job recently.

Perfect time to go

Moyes is now among the greats at West Ham having lifted a trophy, but it can’t be ignored that he significantly underperformed in the Premier League this season.

The team were on the brink of relegation for the vast majority of the campaign until they eventually pulled away with a few games to spare.

But over the course of the last 18 months in the league the performance simply hasn’t been good enough and there were several concerns from the club that he should be let go, with Slaven Bilic even lined up to replace him as recently as April.

Many fans have come to terms with the fact that he should probably leave and after lifting the trophy, it makes sense that he leave now at the very top before he becomes the villain.

The club have been preparing for an exit an it would be the perfect end to a great story. Staying is just begging for it to go badly.
